Braces & Clear Aligners in Bengaluru

Crowded or protruding teeth are harder to clean, wear unevenly and can strain the jaw joint. Straightening is not only about how it looks, though that is a fair reason too.

Choosing between braces and aligners

Metal braces are the most predictable and the least expensive, and they handle complicated cases that aligners cannot.

Ceramic braces are tooth-coloured and far less visible, at a moderate extra cost.

Clear aligners are removable and nearly invisible, which suits adults at work. They only move teeth while you are actually wearing them — about 22 hours a day.

Planned by a specialist

Orthodontics at this clinic is handled by Dr. Chetak Shetty, who holds an MDS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics and has been treating cases for close to three decades.

That matters most in the cases that are not straightforward — an adult with bone loss, a child whose jaw is still growing, a case another clinic has already started and left unfinished.

How long it takes

Mild crowding can be finished in six to nine months. A full correction usually runs 18 to 24 months.

You will get a realistic range at the first consultation after the X-ray, not an optimistic one to win the case.

Questions

About braces & clear aligners

Am I too old for braces?

No. Teeth move at any age — adult treatment is slower than a teenager's, but it works. A good number of aligner patients are in their thirties and forties.

Do braces hurt?

They ache for two or three days after fitting and after each tightening, and ordinary painkillers handle it. The rest of the time you stop noticing them.

How often will I need to come in?

Roughly every four to six weeks for braces, and every six to eight weeks for aligners. Missing appointments is the main reason treatment overruns.
